Advisory

TU Dortmund University has various advisory services for prospective students as well as for students in different phases of life: beginning of studies, course of studies or the start of professional life. On this page you will find an overview of the relevant institutions.

The complaint management offers contact points to which students can turn in the event of conflicts, complaints or suggestions for improvement in the area of teaching and studying. In addition to the central complaint management, the Faculty of Social Sciences also has its own complaint management.

If you have questions about the content of the course, the respective course advisors will help you. You can find the contact persons for the individual departments on the website of the student advisory service in the teaching department of the DoKoLL.

The Staff Unit Equal Opportunities, Family and Diversity (CFV) strengthens the culture of diversity at the TU Dortmund University. It develops, implements and accompanies strategies, instruments and measures to improve equal opportunities and family-friendliness.

The central Equal Opportunity Commissioner supports the TU Dortmund University in its task of promoting the actual implementation of equality between women and men.

The Examinations Office advises students on the exam side (e.g. registration for exams or preparation of (grade) certificates). On the website of Team 5, which is responsible for teacher training courses, you will find all the key information and contacts.

Information and advice on financing your studies and life as well as a collection of information on all aspects of social counseling in the corona crisis can be found on the central study financing website of the TU Dortmund University.

The General Student Advisory Service is the first point of contact for prospective students and students with questions about studying.

The General Student Committee (AStA) represents the students at the university and offers a wide range of services such as legal and social advice, housing and employment agencies as well as the AStA copy shop.

The Psychological Student Advisory Service (PSB) supports students and employees of the TU Dortmund University with study-related problems and difficult life situations.

Students from the respective courses can also advise on questions about the content and organization of the course and pass on personal experiences. On the central page of the student representative bodies you will find an overview of the respective contact persons. In addition, the social sciences student representative body, the general science student representative body and the teaching student representative body each have their own website.

The Student Registration Office offers services about student status such as enrollment, application, leave of absence, re-registration, de-registration and much more.

The International Office supports students who are planning a stay abroad with an extensive range of advice on the various exchange programs, the cooperation partners of TU Dortmund University and funding opportunities.

Informations to Study Abroad

The study coordinators ensure qualified coordination between all departments involved in teaching. They are supervising and advising the students. The areas of responsibility include the coordination and development of support and advisory services for students and prospective students.
